Assessment & Monitoring

Occupational hygiene is necessary within any workplace or environment to maintain and imply a healthy work environment for all employees and contents. Professional Scientific evaluation is applied to the evaluation of potential exposure risks and hazards and is used to minimise them in the safest and most reliable method. The most common application of upholding occupational hygiene is through the process of following 4 steps Anticipation, Recognition, Communication, and Control.

We emphasize the importance of a preventative approach.

We offer a variety of monitoring methods and services to make sure that all workplaces are functioning within satisfactory surroundings that present no risk to anyone involved or the general public. We observe workplace circumstances for hazards spurring from work operations, processes, materials, equipment, products, by-products, and effluent. The results are then processed in terms of the potential for risk regarding health deficiency, work rate, and damage which are then viewed alongside regulatory limits to determine the most appropriate outcome and method for improvement.

Our 4 Step Solution

ANTICIPATION – recognizing impending hazards or risk in the workplace before they are presented.

RECOGNITION – classifying the possible endangerment that a chemical, physical or biological agent or a contrary ergonomic situation poses to health. These may be of the following systems:

  • Biological: bacteria, yeast, mould e.g. Legionella.
  • Chemical: Solvents, metals and hydrocarbons, airborne particles, gases and vapours.
  • Physical: Noise and vibration, thermal stress (excessive heat or cold).
  • Ergonomic: physical activity such as heavy lifting that may imply physical strain.
  • Psychosocial: Stress, work association and workload.

EVALUATION – of the degree of exposure to chemical hazards, physical or biological agents in the workplace. This encompasses the amount of individual contact of a worker to the hazard within the workplace, e.g. breathing and hearing zones.

CONTROL – of the potentially hazardous agent – or adverse ergonomic circumstances, by technical, engineering or other means where there is an indication that this is required.’
